about me
I am an Associate Professor of Behavioral and Experimental Economics and Finance in the Department of Economics at the University of Innsbruck, where I also received my PhD in June 2018. I teach behavioral and experimental economics, finance, and empirical methods, from bachelor's lectures to PhD courses on open science.
Much of my work comes back to a single question: how much of what we think we know about human behavior would still hold if the studies were run again, or if someone else had analyzed the data? The question has come to occupy most of my time, and I pursue it in large collaborations with researchers across economics, finance, and psychology. Alongside this, I study how people deal with risk and uncertainty, in the laboratory and among financial professionals.
Since September 2026, our FWF project has been studying how households adjust their spending and working hours when their income changes, with survey experiments in 20 countries. A metrics fact sheet sums up how my work is cited, who it is written with, and how much of it is preregistered and openly available.
